COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM

At this time, we are offering limited services to people in Portsmouth and New Castle who may need some support during the COVID-19 pandemic.  To ensure the health and safety of members and volunteers, our services will be limited to errands and telephone check-in and support.  We look forward to being able to train additional volunteers to offer the services below when public health officials determine that we can do so safely.

For now – if you live in Portsmouth or New Castle and have signed up to receive member services, we can offer:

  • Grocery pickup at local supermarkets - Market Basket, Hannafords, WalMart, Target, Trader Joe’s
  • Drug store pickup at local pharmacies – RiteAid, CVS, WalMart, Target
  • Pick up of other items you may need at the above stores, or at Petco, Lowes, Home Depot or other outlets
  • Phone check-in through our Phone Buddy program – regular calls from one of our volunteers to see how you’re doing – can be especially helpful if you are living alone or if you are the caregiver of someone who may not be able to call for help if you need it
  • Ongoing information about other ways our community is staying engaged – on-line and through unique activities like community sing-alongs

If you are interested, please CLiCK HERE or give us a call at 603-610-8430 to find out more.  During this time of social distancing, we are offering an introductory rate of $50 from now through June 30.  Your contribution in this amount will help offset the costs of vetting our volunteers and securing safety supplies such as gloves and sanitizer.  If you are interested in joining but not able to afford this membership rate, please contact us anyway.  We have some funds set aside for memberships for those in need.
