VOLUNTEER
Help Each Other Out.
To have a strong village, we stand together to build a community we can rely on. At the Seacoast Village Project, we are all members. Some of us volunteer to support fellow Village members and the Village organization.
Village volunteers fall into three categories: Village Builders, Program Support Volunteers and Direct Service Volunteers (which include drivers).
The strength of our Village depends on having engaged and equal relationships with each other. Our Village runs on volunteers who:
Are part of a team: there's always back up if your schedule changes and you are unable to fulfill your volunteer commitment.
Set their own schedule and follow their interests: Volunteers decide how much and in what way they want to help. You can always decline an opportunity–either because it doesn’t fit your schedule or you don’t feel comfortable with the task.
Have clear boundaries: Village Volunteers can drive, run errands, and help with yard work. But we know that licensed professionals are better suited to filling medication boxes, providing personal care or helping people who need full assistance to transfer in and out of chairs and wheelchairs.
