Join us to create a festive arrangement from a variety of winter greenery. With proper care, your creation will last several weeks, from the beginning of December through the New Year. Think of it as a base of greens that you can change and add to over the course of the month. Ellen Karelitz will lead this wonderful activity. She is a floral designer who has worked at Jardiniere Flowers in Portsmouth for 16 years and taught a Floral Design class at Thompson School at UNH for several years.
Greens
Ellen will provide foraged greens, but we ask that all participants bring some as well. If you can’t gather them from your own yard, winter greens are available at most grocery stores and nurseries. The success of the arrangements depends on having plenty of greens with interesting textures, so bring a variety.
Containers and Supplies
Blocks of floral foam will be provided. Please bring your own container. A loaf pan is the right size and shape, and anything similar will also work.
Tools
Some tools will be available to share. If you can, bring your own gloves, clippers, and a knife for cleaning needles from branches.
