Judy Nerbonne, Portsmouth How long have you lived on the Seacoast? We’ve lived on the Seacoast for 26 years! We decided to move here because we are boaters and we love sailing. We’ve enjoyed exploring the Seacoast, especially the history. We are members of the Athenaeum and have researched the history of our own home! We live nearby Prescott Park and just adore seeing the river and all the boats coming and going. It is such an active seaport. When and why did you join the Village? I knew the founder and have been a member since 2020. I just loved the idea of the Village. We plan to stay living in our home so the Village fits our life perfectly. It has proved to be really helpful to us. I am a caregiver to my husband and I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Sharing Caring group that meets on Zoom. We love making connections in our community with possible sponsors. How did this recurring program become a reality? How were you able to connect us to The Fabulous Find? I’ve been a volunteer with The Fabulous Find for 16 years! I’ve gotten to know the owner very well, as well as her mother (who works at the shop every Sunday at age 90)! I love how welcoming the store is to everyone, and how generous they are. They love supporting local non-profits, so I encouraged the Seacoast Village Project to submit an application to receive funding. Thank you for your help with our application for sponsorship, What would you say to a friend interested in joining the Village? I would tell them that the Village is such a worthwhile, wonderful group of people. Everyone should explore it and find out if it works for them.
