Come join us on a lovely autumn hike through varied forest terrain and lowlands that will take us a short distance along the Oyster River. We will eventually go through areas of striking topography with massive boulders and rock outcroppings. Portions of the trail, especially at the beginning, are somewhat steep and covered with leaf litter so, for safety, be sure to bring trekking poles. The trail is a 2-mile loop but seems a bit longer because of the terrain. The Steven’s Woods Trail is one of the gems in the Durham trail system. It is well worth the effort.
