The Seacoast Village is often described as "neighbors helping neighbors" and as an organization that enables members to "age in place" by staying in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. To fulfill this primary function, it is essential that there are a substantial number of volunteer helpers. It is also essential that Village members are open to asking for the help they might need. In our world that values independence and self-sufficiency, it is often difficult to ask for help. This program will explore the reasons behind this as well as ways the Village might make it easier to request help when needed.

About the Speaker: Sam Marwit is a professor emeritus and retired Diplomate in clinical psychology. He and his wife Barbara have been Village members since the Village's inception. He has served on the Board of Directors and is currently a member of the Health Support Team.

Please join is at 11:00AM on Friday March 27th at the Durham Public Library
