It's time to get out on the water! Join us for a fun kayak along the Lamprey River. This section of the river offers calm, flat paddling with beautiful, peaceful scenery — perfect for all skill levels. We'll plan to stop at an island along the way for lunch or snacks, and we'll help each other load, launch, and retrieve kayaks.

Don't have a kayak? Rentals are available through Newmarket Parks & Recreation, and the boats are stored right at the boat launch site.

What to bring: PFD (life jacket), paddle, lunch or snacks, water, hat, and sunscreen.

Getting there: The boat launch is at 26 Piscassic Street, Newmarket. The route is a bit winding through a neighborhood — from Route 108, turn onto Elm Street at the Newmarket Public Library (right if coming from the north, left if coming from the south). Follow Elm Street about ¼ mile to Beech Street and turn right. Turn right at the bend onto Salmon Street, then immediately left. Follow Salmon Street to the bend and turn right onto Piscassic Street, which will take you to the launch.
