This one-hour tour of Portsmouth's oldest cemetery highlights important and interesting early Portsmouth residents dating from the mid-1600s to the early 1800s. It will involve relatively flat terrain and easy walking. Free parking is generally available along Mechanic Street and on the road to Peirce Island.
This tour will be led by Richard Adams is a local historian and chair of the Board of the Wentowrth-Gardner Historic House. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Portsmouth and have been Village members for a long time. Richard has done a number of cemetery tours for us. Thank you Richard!
